2009 Michael Spahr and Thomas Burkhalter founded the Norient Musikfilm Festival in Bern (Switzerland). Until 2014 Michael Spahr was co-director of the festival about global music culture. In 2009 Michael Spahr and the Norient team also developped the online magazine norient.com, which existed until 2019:
