Fallen Idols (Götzen Fallen)

The video artwork “Götzen Fallen” (German for falling/trapped idols/gods, 2010) has been shown as part of the video art exhibition “Sorpresa per Gue” at the Showroom in the Progr Bern and at the Videofenster Houdini Kino/Bar in Zurich and at Bienzgut Bümpliz. The exhibition was shown until June 21, 2025.

Clima©tic Changes

“Clima©tic Changes” shows a Swiss mountain world that is being affected by man-made global warming. The mountain world is undergoing various metamorphoses caused by climate change. The work is an animated photo collage by media artist Michael Spahr (VJ Rhaps).

“Clima©tic Changes” was first shown at videokunst.ch in 2015. This was followed by various publications, including in a referendum campaign by the Swiss Young Green Party. The original of the political and activist work has since disappeared for inexplicable reasons. In 2025, Michael Spahr brought the work back to life using the original photographic material and with the help of AI. The resurrection of “Clima©tic Changes” celebrated its premiere on 10 April 2025 in the Progr Turnhalle in Bern as part of the IM LOOP program and ran every Thursday until 1 May 2025.

After the Change

Video art by Michael Spahr … imagine a world after climate change … cities and sites all over the world flooded … beautiful and sad at the same time.

Michael Spahr (a.k.a. VJ Rhaps) created this video by using his own photos of sites in Hamburg, Vienna, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Piz Gloria Schilthorn, Chongqing, Beirut and Bümpliz, manipulating them with Adobe Firefly, animating them with Runway ML and Suno.
